SCUOLA GRANDE DI SAN ROCCO

The Scuola di San Rocco was established in 1478 next to the Church of San Rocco, from which it takes its name. The main quality of the whole Scuola Grande is the wonderful cycle of canvases which Tintoretto, conceived and realised in the three Sale between 1564 and 1588. According to some critics, these paintings, because of the unity of theme and their location, is for Venice what the Sistine Chapel is for Rome.
BASILICA SANTA MARIA GLORIOSA DEI FRARI

The Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, next to the cells of the Franciscan monks stands on the Campo dei Frari at the heart of the San Polo district. The complex dates to the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. It’s famous for its rich patrimony of works of art. Foremost among them are Titian’s Assumption of the Virgin and the Pesaro Madonna, Giovanni Bellini’s exquisite triptych, Donatello’s St. John the Baptist, a triptych by Bartolomeo Vivarini, and a statue of John the Baptist by Sansovino.
SCUOLA GRANDE DI SAN GIOVANNI EVANGELISTA

The Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista is a confraternity building located in the San Polo. Founded in the 13th century by a group of flagellants, it’s the oldest in Venice. The Scuola is notable for housing a relic of the true cross and for the series of paintings depicting Miracles of the Holy Cross. The site is use for important cultural and social meetings, often at international level, because of this the Scuola Grande has been chosen by the European Commission for Democracy through Law (the Venice Commission) as a permanent location for their meetings.
CA' REZZONICO

This magnificent palace, now the Museum of Eighteenth-Century Venice, was designed by the greatest Baroque architect of Venice, Baldassare Longhena, and work began in 1649.
